Melanie Howard
Melanie Howard is CEO of HowardPR, a Denver-based PR, marketing and communications firm that provides strategic counsel in the areas of New PR (social media/marketing), traditional media, branding, marketing, and public affairs. Melanie has over 23 years of experience representing companies around the globe, from her former home base in Los Angeles and now in Denver.
Her successes include launching Whole Foods Markets in California and turning around Hooked on Phonics, both in 1994 in LA; helping launch President Reagan's international press conference from LA in 1987; launching Origins Organic Cafe (Estee Lauder Corp.) and Liberty Dialysis in Denver in 2008; creating new local and national exposure for Rich Products Corporation's French Meadow Bakery, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, MCA/GRP Records, Laura Schlessinger and Sally Field; Steve Farber's American Transplant Foundation; and EDUSS Learning.
Media is her passion but she also loves to solve public affairs puzzles. She strives to integrate her clients into new marketing methodologies, partnerships and media they didn't previously think possible. Melanie has achieved exceptional international media coverage for her clients in both consumer and business-to-business sectors, including features in Forbes, Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, Time, network news, and numerous blogs and social media outlets.
Prior to running her own agencies, Melanie worked for Hill & Knowlton and Edelman Public Relations Worldwide in Los Angeles. She has a B.A. in Journalism from UCLA and a degree in Marketing Communications from FIDM, also in Los Angeles. She's a member of PRSA locally and nationally, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Melanie is an avid reader, researcher, athlete, as well as a mother of three and a big fan of Malcom Gladwell's books.
