Jon Pushkin, APR

Jon Pushkin is president of Pushkin Public Relations and one of Denver’s most widely respected PR practitioners. He is the Immediate Past Chair of the Independent Practitioner’s Alliance of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), a Past President of the Colorado Chapter of PRSA, a member of the Advisory Board of Facing History and Ourselves, and Accredited in Public Relations (APR) by PRSA. His award winning work has been recognized by PRSA, the Colorado Healthcare Communicators and the American Marketing Association.
Founded in 1997, Pushkin Public Relations specializes in strategic planning, media relations, and public awareness programs for nonprofit and health related clients. Successes include Be Stroke Smart, a national public awareness relations campaign for Stroke Awareness Month; Checkoff Colorado, a groundbreaking, statewide, collaborative public awareness program; and Beat the Bug, a public awareness campaign for the Colorado health department to encourage people to get a flu shot.
Jon has placed hundreds of feature stories in local and national media, including the Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post, the Wall Street Journal, TIME, USA Today, the Associated Press, Chronicle of Philanthropy, and the New York Times; and on NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, Univision, NPR, and PBS.
Prior to beginning his career in public relations, Jon performed at concerts, folk festivals and workshops across the country as a professional musician and promoted concerts for the legendary Denver Folklore Center.
